Sayani Gupta shares heartwarming moment with Rekha at IIFA 2024

Recently, Actor Sayani Gupta had a special moment on IIFA 2024 at Yas Island when the veteran star Rekha came up and gave her a warm hug just before her 20-minute performance. A memory to cherish, indeed. Sayani remembered the first time she met the legendary actor at an awards show when Rekha came forward and gave her a warm compliment, saying:

Sharing a dreamy picture of the two in an embrace, Sayani penned, “In all these years, the only person I wanted to meet at least once was Rekha. She is beauty, grace, charisma, and art together.”

Sayani recalled the first time they met. She mustered the courage to approach the legendary actress when attending a screening. The actress was sitting just three seats away. Sayani introduced herself and told her how her mother loves to watch Rekha’s films.

“She called me back, took my hand, and asked me to convey her love to my mother. As I was about to leave, she touched my face and said, ‘You have stunning skin. You are so beautiful.’ I don’t think any compliment will ever beat this one,” Sayani said.

At IIFA’s green carpet, a cynical Sayani thought that Rekha would hardly remember her amid all the chaos. But Rekha instantly spotted her and said, “Come, let me hug you. I love you! Pray for my performance!” A dream, says Sayani, underlining that Rekha’s charm is ageless.

At IIFA 2024, Rekha was a showstopper as she danced back-to-back for 20 minutes with classic Hindi film songs, including “Piya Tose Naina Laage Re” from the 1965 film Guide.
