Seema Sajdeh’s Skincare Secret Revealed: The Hydrating Benefits of “Slugging”
In the ever-evolving world of beauty and wellness, Bollywood celebrity Seema Sajdeh has unveiled a unique skincare technique that has piqued the interest of fans and industry insiders alike: the art of “slugging.”
The slugging technique, Involving the application of humble Vaseline or petroleum jelly to the skin, often overnight, slugging has become Seema’s nighttime ritual.
“It’s obvious as you get older your skin loses moisture,” Seema explains. “So whatever your nighttime routine, just lock it with a generous amount of Vaseline or petroleum jelly and go to sleep. In the morning, you will see your skin has taken in the moisture, leaving it glistening.”
Seema further revealed that her co-star Neelam Kothari, who has been concerned about acne, has also tried the slugging method with positive results.
Renowned cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Kiran Sethi has endorsed the effectiveness of the slugging technique, particularly for individuals with dry, sensitive skin who are not prone to acne.
“It creates a barrier between your skin, the elements, and pollution,” Dr. Sethi explains. “When you do that your skin retains the water, and you can stay more hydrated. So it prevents the epidermal water loss potential by a hundred percent from escaping your skin.”
While Dr. Sethi believes slugging can benefit a wide range of skin types, she also cautions that it may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with acne-prone skin.
“If you have very dry skin, you can do it every day, but if you are acne-prone, slugging may not be for you, because sometimes it could be obstructive to your pores,” the dermatologist advises.
