Shahid Kapoor criticizes camp culture in Bollywood and advocates for inclusivity

Shahid Kapoor, an Indian Bollywood actor, boldly criticized the “clubbing/partying” trend as he spoke on Neha Dhupia’s talk show, “No Filter Neha.”

One of the reasons Shahid became famous is his outspoken criticism of a system often run by insiders, which manifests itself in their disdain and debasement of outsiders in Bollywood. Telling his peer colleagues that the best approach is to create an atmosphere of partnership, he pointed out that bad-mouthing, judgment, and removal philosophies should be avoided.

While Neha Dhupia questioned Shahid in this dialogue about how he has been unattached to any angle of struggle throughout his acting career, Shahid added to his answer that he had learned a lot from his personal experiences and battles, creating a strong character in him. He drew a picture of the times he spent in Mumbai—the days he went through as an immigrant.

For the first time in his life, he realized that his Delhi accent and his unawareness of the city made him a very “easy pick” and an easy person for people to shy away from and show rejection towards him. Though his joining once proved difficult, Shahid eventually began finding tranquility and belonging when he started dancing with Shiamak Davar and later acting.

Using the school metaphor for the industry, Shahid emphasized the scarce number of insiders who can afford to invite outsiders on the board. He delivered his annoyance on the campus infrastructure operation, arguing that creative harmonization and personal comfort are important but should not make others down by lowering their amorphousness or closing the doors on them. Shahid has a strong opinion toward the intolerant and stagger sectors that should avoid discrimination and welcome diversity.

A nuanced actor who cautiously arrives at the set with his years of presence in Bollywood, Shahid has worked with many directors and co-actors alike. While being a huge star in this business, he always adheres to his principles, which means he will never be a company member. With his open confessions on the show, he has paved the way for Bollywood to open the door for inclusion and inclusivity, where the best talent and outstanding performances take their rightful place rather than the mere factors of popularity and image.
