Shalini Passi on viral quote, staying zen, and her no-grudge mantra

Shalini Passi’s viral statement from Netflix’s hit series Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.

The only reason I don’t hold grudges against other people is because it affects my skin” has quickly become a talking point, drawing wide admiration, especially from women.

Recently, in an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Passi delved into the backstory of this now-famous quote, sharing insights into why she genuinely believes in it as a way of life.

Shalini Passi, who has garnered attention for her unabashed personality and self-confidence on the show, explained that her approach to not holding grudges isn’t just for the cameras; it’s part of her lifestyle.

“This is something that I have lived by,” she explained, pointing out that it’s a sentiment endorsed by practitioners in wellness and skincare. According to her, stress triggers hormones that accelerate aging and disrupt sleep—both of which she wants to avoid.

One of the show’s memorable moments highlighted this philosophy in action. During a dinner scene in Mauritius, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni accidentally spilled champagne on Passi.

While viewers might have expected a reaction, Passi surprised everyone by staying calm, choosing to think about the crew instead.

“Honestly, it’s not a fun feeling to be sitting there, wet, on the seaside,” she recalled. “But if I had walked off, everyone—the cast, production, and camera team—would have been delayed. I was thinking about them rather than making a scene.”

Passi also shared that she strives to live by a sense of karma and higher purpose. With a belief in positive energy, she’s clear on one thing: avoiding tantrums and grudges not only benefits her but keeps her karma intact.

This grounded perspective has resonated with audiences, propelling Passi into the spotlight as she redefines the meaning of on-screen grace and self-assuredness.
