Actress Sobhita Dhulipala, known for her roles in films like “Raman Raghav 2.0” and the series “Made In Heaven,” has opened up about the concept of ‘casual objectification’ and her decision to reduce social media usage.
In an interview with GQ India, Dhulipala expressed her sensitivity towards people’s opinions and emphasized the importance of remaining emotionally connected rather than desensitized. She acknowledged that she does get affected by what people say and prefers to feel everything rather than becoming callous.
Dhulipala highlighted the tendency to label individuals based on superficial characteristics, referring to it as ‘casual objectification.’ She criticized reducing people to simple keywords, such as ‘hot,’ ‘cute,’ or ‘funny,’ and emphasized the need to appreciate each person’s complexity and individuality.
Regarding her social media habits, Dhulipala explained that limiting her exposure on platforms like Instagram addresses the impact of external opinions and maintains her sensitivity. She believes it is more valuable to experience vulnerability and emotional depth than to build a protective shield of indifference.
In addition to discussing her perspective on objectification and social media, the actress also shared insights into her acting career and recent projects, including her role in the film Monkey Man alongside Dev Patel.
