SRK urged to visit ailing former mentor by Congress leader

In a heartfelt appeal, Szarita Laitphlang, a prominent Congress leader, has reached out to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, urging him to visit his former teacher and mentor, Eric D’Souza, whose health is reportedly deteriorating.

Through a video message, Laitphlang informed Khan about the worsening condition of Eric D’Souza, whom she described as the actor’s mentor. Emphasizing the situation’s urgency, Laitphlang emphasized that D’Souza’s health is rapidly declining, and he can no longer speak.

“Kindly spare a few minutes to come and visit him. Mumbai is not very far from Goa. It is just an hour’s flight. His health is deteriorating, and he can’t speak anymore,” Laitphlang said in the video, appealing to Khan to make the short trip from Mumbai to Goa to meet his former mentor.

In another tweet, Laitphlang referred to D’Souza as SRK’s mentor, further underscoring this personal connection’s importance and impact on the actor’s life.

“This feels like my final plea, my last attempt to reach out to @iamsrk to humbly request his presence by the side of Brother Eric S D’Souza. Each day, Brother’s health weakens, his condition worsening with every passing moment. Just an hour away by flight, Mumbai holds the possibility of bringing solace to his ailing heart,” Laitphlang wrote in her tweet.

The politician also shared a video as proof of the bond between Khan and D’Souza, emphasizing the significance of this meeting for the ailing mentor.

“To all those who may doubt, let me share this video that should dispel any uncertainties about the connection between Shah Rukh Khan and brother Eric S D’Souza. To those wondering why such a meeting matters, understand that Brother Eric was more than a stranger to him—he was a mentor, a guiding light,” Laitphlang wrote.

Despite her efforts to reach out to Khan’s manager, Laitphlang’s plea appears to have gone unanswered so far.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has had a remarkable year in 2023, with the success of films like ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawaan’, and ‘Dunki.’ The actor is currently preparing for his next project, ‘King.’
