More than a month after its release, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 is still in complete domination at the box office and only shows signs of much more success to come. The film has evidently shattered records to become the biggest Hindi grosser of all time and also recently attained the title of the most profitable project in Bollywood history.
Made on a budget of around ₹ 60 crore, Stree 2 has crossed an impressive ₹577 crore in earnings within India alone, according to Sacnilk. That would mean an estimated ROI of roughly ₹510, meaning the movie has raked in almost nine times its budget in ticket sales alone.
In comparison, Stree 2 did much better than those successful movies, and another film by the same production house, Maddock Films, was titled Munjya. Munjya minted around ₹108 crore on an investment of ₹30 crore, which Stree 2 has way crossed. Even its return on investment is bigger than Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, which was made on a budget of ₹100 crore with a grossing amount of ₹556.36 crore.
On Monday, Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced that Stree 2 has finally entered the ₹600 crore club in India, hence becoming the first Hindi film ever to have crossed this mark. In a note he posted on X, he said, “IT’S 600 PAAR. Stree 2 creates history as the first #Hindi film to achieve this feat.” From metros to non-metros, multiplexes to single screens, and urban centers to mass markets, Stree 2 is an OUTRIGHT WINNER across the board.
Adarsh also pointed out a detailed box office breakup of the film, which stated that its steady run has been maintained week after week. The current total stands at ₹604.22 crore, marking an incredible journey for this blockbuster success.
