American actor Sydney Sweeney was spotted on location in North Carolina sporting a bold new look as she gets into character for an upcoming film.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the 27-year-old with a shoulder-length mullet and makeup-free appearance, a dramatic change from her usual blonde locks.
Sweeney is portraying professional boxer Christy Martin in an untitled biopic directed by David Michôd. She was seen dressed in baggy attire with an assistant holding an umbrella.
The Euphoria star will chronicle Martin’s journey from a conservative small-town upbringing in West Virginia in the 1990s to becoming a gay female boxer, finding an outlet in the ring for her rage.
Having trained in kickboxing from age 12-19, Sweeney said she was eager to get back in the ring and transform physically for the demanding role.
Michôd’s film will explore Martin’s emotions and struggles, in what promises to be an impactful sports drama highlighting perseverance against the odds.
