This die-hard Taylor Swift fan has taken an extra step to ease some accommodation problems related to the pop star’s concert this coming weekend in New Orleans. With the coming of the second North American leg of the record-breaking Eras Tour by Swift, Rebecca Fox has been burning night and day to book accommodations for other fans to prevent them from sweating out in finding cheaper options for this highly anticipated weekend event.
In anticipation of the concert, which will be held between October 25 and 27, it has managed to book a staggering 191 rooms in a Holiday Inn with Fox, providing a retreat for fans who will flock to witness Swift’s enchanting performance. This is apparently due to her experiences in previous concerts where she felt dislocated from the fanbase.
But Fox, inspired by her desire to create an immersive experience, has arranged a spate of events to be held in tandem for attendees, which she has called Holiday House-a play on Swift’s song “The Last Great American Dynasty.”.
But in a world where concert ticket attainment is just the first of many headaches, fans travel and take off work with hotel costs that dull the excitement. In recounting her concert experiences, Fox admitted a need for connection: “I didn’t get to trade bracelets. I didn’t get to meet anybody.” Her effort will keep the Swifties connected with one another over the happiness of the concert.
Fox started trying to organize the convention simply by booking 20 rooms at the Hyatt Regency, right next door to the stadium. When that hotel wouldn’t grant her request for more rooms, she took her campaign to the Holiday Inn downtown, still stressing that she had paid for everything herself, charging guests only a $25 deposit, which they would be refunded after the event.
The Holiday House Convention promises Taylor-themed and New Orleans-themed activities over the weekend, including bracelet-making, scavenger hunts, and a host of other events to make it a highly interactive fan experience.
Not only is their great excitement over Swift’s concert but also a warning about hotel scams from Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill on consumer protection for visitors. Meanwhile, Governor Jeff Landry issued a directive for state departments to help homeless people in advance of the arrival of concertgoers. Gracie Abrams will join Taylor Swift at the Caesars Superdome, adding to the magical weekend fans will have.
