Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour brings an experience for fans who have never seen the turning and transitioning of their favorite icon. The setlist featured a record-breaking 44 songs, spanning her entire ten studio albums and twelve-year-spanning chart-toppers. Unique to the Eras Tour are the surprise songs: absolute exclusives that are repeated rarely, if ever, which make each concert a one-of-a-kind show.
As the tour reaches its second year in 2024, Swift is still wowing her fans live with performances of these infrequently played tracks. Currently, she has played 281 surprise songs, of which here are eight highlights from this year 2024:
In Tokyo, Swift kicked the year off with “Dear Reader” from Midnights (3 AM Edition), which was a special moment since it was her first time performing the song for the Asian leg of her tour. Meanwhile, in Melbourne, the emotive title track from Red had the most meaningful impact on fans as a nostalgic throwback to the song that helped launch her career.
On the first of six nights in Singapore, Swift took fans by surprise with a mashup of “Mine” from Speak Now and “Starlight” from Red on guitar. Swift told the crowd it was her favorite part of the show-despite the chaotic nature. During her show in Paris, Swift made “LOML” receive its live debut at La Défense Arena; fans were so delighted because it was one of the deep cuts from The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
During “Peter,” the other Stockholm gem from The Tortured Poets Department, Swift was heard with a yearning piano accompaniment. The live premiere of “Fresh Out the Slammer” with “High Infidelity” off Midnights made the night in Lisbon so special for fans. Swift merged “I Look in People’s Windows” from The Tortured Poets Department with Midnights’ “Snow on the Beach” in Madrid for one of those magical moments.
In Toronto, she performed the poignant “You’re Losing Me” and “How Did It End?” from The Tortured Poets Department, leaving fans emotionally moved. The Eras Tour continues to be a remarkable celebration of Taylor Swift’s artistry, promising unforgettable performances and cherished memories for fans around the world.
