Kapil Sharma welcomes Kapoor’s family on his new Netflix show.
Comedian Kapil Sharma premiered the first episode of his new Netflix talk show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show‘ on Saturday. The very special first guest was the Kapoor family including Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
The episode featured lighthearted conversations about family and fond memories. Neetu Kapoor shared how the late actor Rishi Kapoor was a disciplinarian father who never pampered his children Ranbir and Riddhima when they studied abroad. She said he would give them just enough money for meals, so they had to learn the value of money.
Ranbir recalled a funny incident where his father abruptly asked a director pitching a film script to get out of the car. This was when the director narrated having Rishi Kapoor play a thin and hungry character. Ranbir said his father was deeply religious as well and had only slapped him once for entering a temple wearing shoes.
The episode also saw Ranbir gush over his one-year-old daughter Raha. Neetu remarked how the usually reticent Ranbir lights up around his toddler. He shared how Raha wrapped him around her little finger, and he enjoys burping and playing with her.
In a hilarious skit, Sunil Grover returned to the show as his popular character Guthi. However, this time, he was dressed in exaggerated feminine attire, calling himself Dafli. In a spoof romantic scene with Ranbir to funny music, Dafli’s antics had the whole crew in splits.
The lighthearted episode gave viewers a peek into the Kapoor family’s bond and memories in Kapil Sharma’s signature comic yet warm conversational style. With its star guests and feel-good vibe, it marked a successful beginning to the comedian’s new talk show venture.
