Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, also known as The Liver Doc, has penned a strong note criticizing Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s doctor, Dr. Jockers. Previously, The Liver Doc slammed the actress for recommending hydrogen peroxide nebulization. Now, he claims that Samantha’s doctor is a “fraud” who has been warned by medical authorities multiple times.
On Saturday morning, Philips took to his X handle to express his views on the matter. He noted that many of Samantha’s fans have asked him to be kinder towards her. However, Philips stated that his primary aim is to combat “medical misinformation” online.
The Liver Doc labeled Samantha’s doctor as a “fraud,” highlighting that Dr. Jockers is a naturopath and not a medical doctor. He argued that naturopaths pose a threat to public health and emphasized that Dr. Jockers has faced multiple warnings from regulatory bodies, including the US FDA and US FTA, for promoting unsafe products and services.
Philips also apologized to Samantha Ruth, expressing empathy for her health condition and wishing her well. He clarified that his intention was not to cause discomfort but to urge her to avoid “doctors” who exploit her vulnerability for their gain.
Earlier this week, Samantha recommended hydrogen peroxide nebulization on her Instagram stories, which drew criticism from The Liver Doc. He called her “health and science illiterate” and warned that the practice is dangerous. He even suggested that she should face legal consequences for endangering public health.
In response, Samantha defended her recommendation, stating that it was made with good intentions and based on advice from a “highly qualified doctor.” She also requested The Liver Doc to be more polite, expressing disappointment at his harsh words, including the suggestion that she should be imprisoned.
This incident underscores the ongoing debate over medical misinformation and the responsibilities of public figures in promoting health practices.
