Triptii Dimri reacts to backlash over her dance in mere mehboob

Triptii Dimri responds to criticism of her dance number in ‘Mere Mehboob.’

Actor Triptii Dimri has responded to the backlash received over her dance moves in the upcoming film ‘Vicky and Vidya’s Woh Wala Video’ song ‘Mere Mehboob’.

Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the number saw Dimri performing pelvic thrust-like moves on the floor which many termed “uncomfortable”.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when asked if she felt the same while shooting, Dimri stated as an actor she aims to try different things.

While admitting it’s her first dance track, she didn’t expect such a reaction but said this happens with everyone.

Dimri commented one shouldn’t stop experimenting due to criticism and maintain honesty at work. “You can’t stop yourself. You have to look straight and just keep doing what you love,” she observed.

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the comedy traces a newly married couple’s lost sex tape from the 1990s starring Dimri and Rajkummar Rao.

The song has fans grooving along but choreography drew polarizing views. While some called it “cringe”, Dimri defended her approach to hone multiple skills.
