Triptii Dimri has been a sensation ever since she acted in the most talked-about film of Ranbir Kapoor, Animal. Ever since the movie got released, her popularity soared, and she went on to sign new projects like Bad Newz, Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Voh Wala Video, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However, her co-star and actor Parambrata Chatterjee, who is known for his role in Bulbbul, feels Triptii has a long way to go before proving herself in the industry.
Speaking at a recent event hosted by SCREEN, Parambrata spoke about the current talent pool, rating Vidya Balan as the most talented actress while placing Triptii in the last. He said, “It is what it is; national crushes are temporary, but class is permanent. I mean no offence—sorry. What is she called? Bhabhi 2!”
He further said, “She is lovely, a very nice girl, and I really get along with her. But she still has miles to go. She entered the industry very young and will learn a lot. But Vidya, I mean, sorry to say, is a class apart in whatever she does,” he added, referring to his work with Vidya on Kahaani.
Animal marked an important leap in Triptii’s career, as through it she joined the mainstream of Bollywood. The role also brought some share of scrutiny in its wake-a phase she handles graciously. In conversation with Forbes India, Triptii opened up about the criticism received on her roles for Animal and Bad Newz. “I am someone who wants to give 100 percent. If I find the character or the story interesting, I want to give my all. That’s what I’ve learned-if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. We won’t always be liked by everybody. There will be some people who like you, and some who don’t. You can’t keep all that noise in mind. You have to follow your heart and do things that you feel are right,” she said.
Triptii didn’t bat an eyelid when asked if she was moving away from her “overtly sexualized” image. “I am going with the flow. The aim is to play different characters because I don’t want to go on a set and feel bored. I want to feel challenged and wonder, ‘How will this happen?’ and then make it happen,” Triptii says.
Ahead, Triptii Dimri is scheduled to star in the leading ensemble of Arjun Ustara with Shahid Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, and Randeep Hooda, promising further exciting roles in her evolving career.
