Urvashi Rautela recently came under fire for showing off her expensive watch while showing concern for Saif Ali Khan’s health after he was allegedly attacked. The actress received a whole lot of flak and some commentators even called her “beauty without brains.” Now, she has spoken about the backlash in an interview with Instant Bollywood.
Reacting to the label, Urvashi said, “Even the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi ji, or my favorite superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, are not spared by public opinion. What can be done about it?
That didn’t augur well with some of the users on Reddit. One of them wrote, “No freaking way she compared herself to greats like Modi ji, SRK, and Salman.” Another user chimed in, “She is delusional but iconic at the same time,” as another added, “How delusional can one get?”
The attack on her went a notch higher when Urvashi spoke about the attack on Saif Ali Khan while trying to drive home a point of her expensive accessories. She told ANI, “It’s so unfortunate. Now, at the box office, Daaku Maharaaj has crossed ₹105 crores, and my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex and my father has gifted me this mini watch on my finger, but we are not confident enough to wear it openly due to the insecurity of being attacked. Whatever happened, so unfortunate.
She had come onto Instagram and apologized, though the post is since deleted. Later in an interview to Filmfare, she said that it was 4 a.m., and her interviews were at 8 a.m., so she did not know how serious it was.
She further revealed that when she woke up, she was told somebody got injured, though she did not know how bad it was. She has clarified that even the person recovering has not clarified things clearly till date and on the ongoing round of interviews since the beginning has been regarding celebration of the success of her Telugu film Daaku Maharaaj is the reason why she mentioned this during interviews.
