Urvashi Rautela made a significant move by unfollowing podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on Instagram during the uproar over his recent remark on the show India’s Got Latent. As a second move, the actress also canceled her pending visit to Allahbadia’s new podcast.
This decision comes as Urvashi is basking in the success of her latest film, Daaku Maharaaj. She was originally scheduled to guest on the podcast but decided to withdraw after the controversy engulfed Allahbadia.
The controversy follows remarks by Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, during a recent episode of his podcast. He supposedly inquired about a contestant objectionable body part-related question and suggested a profane act for a winning price of Rs 2 crore. It became even worse when he asked, “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?
” The remark led to widespread outrage and disappointment, and the video became viral on social media. The outrage only intensified, and there was condemnation from every quarter, including politicians and celebrities. A complaint was filed with the police against Allahbadia following the incident, along with the other judges Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija.
After the outrage, Ranveer Allahbadia uploaded an apology video, acknowledging the inappropriateness of his comment. He stated, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry.” He claimed that this is not how he wishes to utilize his platform and made no context or justification for his comment. Meanwhile, Samay Raina announced that he had removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube after the incident.
