This star has many fans with a special crush on her, and one may not imagine that any sane proposal to her would ever be rejected. But here is a twist from the past: once upon a time, Varun Dhawan had rejected Shraddha’s heartfelt advance.
While promoting her horror-comedy, Stree 2, Shraddha had shared an adorable story about how she had proposed to Varun when they were kids. Now, during the promotional tour of his recent film, Baby John, Varun relived the funny moment as he spoke with YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra. He added that the incident happened when they were eight years old.
Varun remembers attending Shraddha’s tenth birthday and seeing her as a very beautiful child wearing a red frock. In his neighborhood that was full of boys smitten with the tiny girl, Varun remembers the accusing faces asking why he too couldn’t feel like that. “I think at the time,” said Varun who then harbored a determination to win a dance competition.
But when he told them that he did not like Shraddha, this did not go down well with the boys, who insisted that he should like Shraddha. When he stuck to his stand, matters turned comic—Varun was playfully thrashed up by the boys, with a chuckle, he says, “They started fighting with me. Thoda pita, usne pitwaya, kyunki main haan nahi bol raha tha.”
