As Vedang Raina prepares to carry off the cinematic storm on October 11th with his film Jigra opposite Alia Bhatt, an array of noted dignitaries from the industry attended the special screening in Mumbai. Karan Johar, Neetu Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt, Akansha Ranjan, and Radhika Madan were in attendance. Also making time for the actor was his alleged girlfriend, Khushi Kapoor, who demonstrated her support for the film by wearing a Jigra T-shirt at the special screening.
At the premiere, social media was flooded with pictures of Vedang and Khushi, escalating the rumors about their relationship that have been going on since the release of their first film, The Archies. None of them has confirmed this love affair so far. Khushi wore blue jeans paired with a T-shirt on the theme of Jigra at the event to give a cool look.
Returning to the movie, presented by Karan Johar, the CBFC has given it a U/A certificate. The total runtime of Jigra is 155 minutes, or 2 hours and 35 minutes. The trailer, which gained much appreciation, started off by showing Alia Bhatt as her character receiving a late-night call regarding her brother Ankur, played by Vedang, who has been arrested.
The helpless Ankur is then shown inside a foreign courtroom, incoherent about the proceedings as she asks him about the situation and whether his blood tests would clear him. Enraged to save her brother, Alia begins a determined drive to get him back from jail.
The movie was released on the same date as Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and the box office competition is at an all-time high.
In related news, Khushi Kapoor has been roped into a romantic movie opposite Junaid, son of Aamir Khan. Helmed by Advait Chandan, who has worked in Laal Singh Chaddha, the movie is believed to hit the theatres in February 2025. If that wasn’t all, Khushi has wrapped up with another project that stars Ibrahim Ali Khan and Kajol in the key roles.
