On Monday, Amazon revealed it had increased standard commission income rates across 20 plus sub-categories to more than 50,000 content creators with which it is engaged.
Amazon says a revised structure will confer 1.5x-2x enhanced income to content creators in a wide range of product categories, including fashion, beauty, and personal care appliances, home, kitchen, toys, and books.
The announcement comes ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival, which starts on September 27.
“This empowers creators to earn more during the peak shopping season and capitalize on the increased consumer demand during the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF),” a company statement read.
As per Zahid Khan, who heads Amazon’s shopping initiatives for India and emerging markets, this will assist the creator and result in a much more engaging and rewarding shopping experience for the customer.
It added that in addition to generally increased standard commission income rates, the company has also announced target-linked incentives for up to 10-15% of the revenue generated.
The statement said hundreds of creators will stream over 1,500 live streams across categories such as Mobiles, Home Appliances, Home Decor, Fashion, and Beauty, among many others, for the AGIF (Amazon Great Indian Festival).
