Amitabh Bachchan Purchases Land in Alibaug for ₹10 Crore

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has added another luxury property to his real estate portfolio.

The coastal village of Alibaug near Mumbai. Sources have confirmed that Bachchan recently purchased a 10,000-square-foot plot of land from developer House of Abhinandan Lodha for Rs 10 crore.

The purchased land is in an upcoming project called AA Alibaug, a 20-acre luxury residential development launched by the builder last year. Bachchan owns other properties in Mumbai and another land parcel purchased from the same developer in Ayodhya for their project, The Sarayu.

In recent years, Alibaug has become a popular second home and investment destination among India’s wealthy. Its lush coastal surroundings and proximity to Mumbai have fueled a boom in luxury housing projects catering to HNIs seeking weekend retreats.

Other celebrities like SRK also own lavish seaside estates in the area, where networking and hosting friends are common. While Bachchan already owns several bungalows in Mumbai’s Juhu, this newest acquisition hints at his appreciation for Alibaug’s natural beauty and burgeoning upmarket property market.

Bollywood stars like Anushka Sharma and cricketers like Rohit Sharma have also invested in the area recently. With improving infrastructure, such as roads and transport links to the city, Alibaug village homes continue gaining celebrity patronage as ideal coastal boltholes near the bustle of Mumbai.
