In a new move and to fully improve the working conditions and well-being of its factory workers, the Apple ecosystem is now prioritising the resting-house allocation for the factory workers. Chinese and Vietnam become a source of inspiration by virtue of the success of those models as the company strives to create a 360-degree maneuver, thus providing a conducive environment for its workforce. As reported by The Economic Times, Apple’s contract manufacturers and suppliers, i.e. Foxconn, Tata, and Salcomp, are investors in creating safe accommodation for their employees.
A significant public-private partnership portrays one of the largest such projects in the private sector. The plan contains the construction of 78,000 living spaces, with Tamil Nadu taking up the state that carries along the greatest number of 58,000 units.
The Operation wing (SIPCOT) of the Tamil Nadu State Industries Promotion Corporation is behind as much as utmost of such housing units. On another note, the construction phase never lacks major contributors, either, because well-known companies like the Tata Group and SPR India donate their experience.
In order to launch the program, the national government estimated to spend around 10-15% of the total cost, while the remaining amount was to be picked up by state entities and private investors. The respective government officials are optimistic that the units will be completed in the previous financial year, March 31, 2025 so as to hand over the keys to these new homeowners.
The member of the authoritative side on the subject said that the number one objective of the project is to facilitate productivity as well as protect the integrity of the employees, especially the old vulnerable women who form the majority of employees aged between 19 and 24.
The ecosystem of Apple, as it is evident, is creating residential facilities for its factory workers thus depicting the company has invested so much towards solidifying a friendly and supportive workforce that takes care of the mental and physical wellbeing of the workers in the factory.
