Citroen partners with OHM E logistics to accelerate EV adoption

Citroen, the French automaker, has forged a strategic partnership with OHM E Logistics to bolster the adoption of electric vehicles in India’s shared mobility space. The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see Citroen supply 1,000 units of its electric hatchback, the e-C3, to OHM E Logistics over the next 12 months.

The collaboration aims to introduce the Citroen e-C3 into OHM E Logistics’ expanding electric shared mobility services fleet. Shishir Mishra, the Citroen India Brand Director, emphasized that this partnership underscores the shared vision of both companies to promote sustainable electric mobility and reduce the carbon footprint in the transportation sector.

The first phase of fleet induction will involve delivering 120 Citroen e-C3 vehicles to Hyderabad. Over the next year, OHM E Logistics plans to integrate the remaining 880 vehicles into its operations nationwide gradually.

OHM E Logistics, which started its journey with 100 electric cabs deployed at the GMR Hyderabad Airport in October 2022, is now poised to expand its electric fleet through this partnership with Citroen significantly.

The Citroen e-C3 boasts an impressive range of 320 kilometers on a single charge, per the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) standards, and can be fully recharged in less than an hour, making it an attractive option for shared mobility services.

This strategic alliance between Citroen and OHM E Logistics underscores the growing momentum in India’s electric vehicle ecosystem, as automakers and mobility service providers collaborate to drive the transition towards a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious transportation future.
