FDA probes McDonald’s and Theobroma Bakery in Noida over consumer illness

After a consumer who ate food from a McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18 and Theobroma bakery in Sector 104 and allegedly fell sick complained, officials from the Food and Safety Drug Administration (FDA) collected samples for testing last night, thus paving the way for action against these food joints.

The officials said they have written a grievance and sent it to the Food Safety Connect portal of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The officials reported the incident as being filed by a consumer who had a burger and fries from a Noida Sector 18 outlet and became sick immediately.

Then, the FDA collected the product samples at section 18 of Noida city in South Delhi. The FDA is in charge of the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar.

“We have again a sample from Theobroma food bakery, located at Sector 3 Noida, cited under the password no: 20, as it is suspected that someone fell ill after eating stale cake; we took a pineapple cake sample and delivered it to the laboratory; the cake sample analysis report will be out by the end of this week; if the report states that the cake sample is not safe

The FDA authorities are prepared and anticipate the lab reports coming within a month. If the samples give a wrong result, corrective action will be taken, and a case will be lodged against the irresponsible enterprise.

The FDA investigations show the importance of being careful while maintaining food safety and dealing with customer complaints to safeguard the public’s health.
