Indian Railways completes Vande Metro Trial run

Introducing comfortable long-journey train Vande Bharat across the nation, now Indian Railway has successfully completed the train run for Vande Metro across the country.

The task was carried out on 3rd August between the Villivakkam and Walajah Road by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS). This is done in the presence of the higher authorities of the southern railway with the ICF and RDSO senior officials.

Hitherto, it has been disclosed that the Vande Metro will be made up of 12 coaches, all with tape-recorder air-conditioning systems that would enable the passengers on board to have the best transport amenities. It has been mainly used for operations for intercity distances of 150–200 km at speeds up to 110 kmph.

The train is built incorporating modern technologies and makes available to the passengers on board some of the best technologies available. Some of the features are automatic doors, comfort zones, entertainment, hand belts for standees, and CCTV, among others.

There are reports that the train will be able to accommodate double leaf doors, hence easy for boarding and deboarding. This was also highlighted in the report as the means through which it will showcase great accelerating and decelerating abilities in order to achieve as many stops in the shortest time possible.
