JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon praises PM Modi’s economic reforms in India

The Railways Minister promises confirmed tickets for all within 5 years.

Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has assured all passengers that they will get confirmed reservations within the next five years, citing PM Modi‘s commitment to expanding capacity.

Interacting with the media, Vaishnaw stated the development aligns with the transformative progress witnessed in the sector over the past decade under Modi’s leadership.

Pointing to infrastructure augmentations, he shared that an unprecedented 31,000 km of new tracks were laid, compared to just 5,000 km from 2004 to 2014.

Similarly, electrification jumped to 44,000 km from a meagre 5,000 km during the mentioned period earlier. Coach production, too, saw a surge to 54,000 from 32,000.

The Minister further spoke of commissioning 2,734 km of dedicated freight corridors, which had not seen any work prior to 2014.

Asserting PM’s vision has tremendously strengthened Railways as an economic driver, Vaishnaw expressed the momentum will accelerate facilities & amenities over the next 5 years.

This includes fulfilling the assurance of confirmed bookings for all passengers under an increased capacity roadmap.
