Social media tycoon Mark Zuckerberg celebrated his 40th birthday recently, taking to Instagram to share a collection of nostalgic throwback photographs tracing his entrepreneurial voyage.
One image featured him alongside the legendary Bill Gates in Harvard’s dorm, where Facebook was born, highlighting their combined net worth of $296 billion, according to Forbes.
Zuckerberg also posted a shot of his initial cramped apartment, reminiscing about living there until he reached 100 million users on the platform he co-founded.
Another old photo showed his childhood computer, where he first learned programming skills. The Meta founder gave fans a rare glimpse into his formative years.
One picture captured his likely-cramped makeshift “office lockdown” as he battled competitors in Facebook’s nascent stage. Zuckerberg also recalled college hangouts at Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, which fuelled his start-up dreams.
Wife Priscilla Chan, in an Instagram post, mentioned how she convinced her usually low-key husband to let her throw a lively 40th birthday bash this time, on the condition that friends and family would also rib him plenty in good fun. She spoke of his belief in people’s potential.
