Mohammed Siraj’s unshakable confidence level and undying image of defiance have been considered by the ex-batting legend Sunil Gavaskar as his true best attributes. The pacer did not only lend a hand in RC B’s triumph but played a vital role in RCB thrashing Gujarat Titan by a four-wicket defeat.
Through many efforts on Siraj’s part, his incredible performance stands out the most when he caught Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha for two wickets in the powerplay, which helped restrict Gujarat Titans to only 147 all-out in 20.3 overs yesterday.
Addressing the Star Sports Cricket Live, Gavaskar famously admired Siraj’s striking determination and grit. Finally, he referred to an important experience in Siraj’s life, during which his father died when he was in Australia.
The Spirit of sacrifice took over him, sparking him to stay in India and play for the country. Gavaskar remarked on Siraj’s dazzling performance in the Gabba Test, in which he helped remove Smith’s wicket after he had hardly added 51 runs.
Gavaskar wanted to convey the message that Raj admired Mr. Siraj because he never lacked confidence and never gave up on the field. He is the one who displayed his real strength.
Scoring a meager chaseable target of 148, RCB’s opening batsmen Faf du Plessis (64) and Virat Kohli (42) instated a signature of flame with 92 92-run powerplay chase. RCB were the ones to push ahead initially through their powerful bowling attack, and in turn, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their six wickets and found themselves on 117/6. Despite that, they did not lose squarely and then took the last wicket in under 14 overs.
Finally, Mohammed Siraj’s indomitable belief, combined with RCB’s aggressive approach and ability to bounce back from a collapse, produced an unimaginable win over the Gujarat Titans.
