Northern Railways ramps up summer special train services.
As summer vacations get underway, the Northern Railways network is taking measures to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic. Its Delhi division has operated 542-holiday special trains from April until the first week of July.
The Moradabad division has introduced around 51 special weekly trains on key routes spanning Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Central India. These include services connecting major cities like Delhi, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur.
Passenger numbers have been monitored more closely at stations in Dehradun, Haridwar, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, and others, which typically see heavy footfalls. Under RPF supervision, steps are being taken to streamline entry and exit at terminus stations.
Arrangements like queue management, passenger guidance booths, and staff deployment have been implemented. To manage anticipated crowds efficiently, additional ticket counters and officers have been placed at key stations like New Delhi and Anand Vihar Terminal.
Unscheduled special trains will also operate based on daily demand assessment. Special security measures are in place across the network. Passengers also have the option of digital payments for onboard catering.
The slew of initiatives aims to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers utilizing the special trains during the holiday rush. Northern Railways is leaving no stone unturned in facilitating smooth operations.
