The SBI has introduced an improved FASTag design that seeks to redress the cross-infringement of small vehicle tags on large vehicles, particularly the VC-04, which includes cars, jeeps, and vans, among others. This is after noticing that VC-04 tags are being installed on heavy vehicles, including trucks, which costs toll plazas a high revenue share.
SBI says that the new design will help toll staff quickly and easily identify classes of vehicles and respond appropriately to violations.
Apart from the update of FASTag, SBI has introduced India’s First MTS RuPay NCMC Prepaid Card. This card, in the same fashion, provides offline payment solutions for all the different NCMC-enabled transit systems such as metro rail, bus, ferries, tolls, and parking.
The latest one is the OneView mobile application, through which SBI has provided enhanced solutions to monitor and control SBI’s NCMC Prepaid Cards. This application helps customers recharge, monitor, and manage their cards from one place.
MTS cards are issued without KYC verification, and the OneView app launched by SBI makes card management very easy, as Mahesh Kumar Sharma, the DMD of Transaction Banking and New Initiatives at SBI, rightly pointed out.
