Streamlining Aadhaar address updates: A convenient process

In an era when the Aadhaar card has become an indispensable form of identification, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has streamlined the process of updating one’s residential address on this crucial document.

The 12-digit Aadhaar number serves as proof of residence for all Indian residents, and the UIDAI has made it convenient for individuals to modify their address details online. By visiting the official UIDAI website and entering their Aadhaar and registered mobile number, users can access the “Address Update” option and select “Update Aadhaar Online.”

After verifying their identity through a one-time password (OTP), users can input their new address details and upload the necessary supporting documents. A preview page allows for final adjustments before the request is submitted, and users will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) for future reference.

The entire process is designed to be user-friendly, empowering Indian residents to maintain the accuracy of their Aadhaar cards. A fee of Rs 50 is charged for the address update, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all.
