Senior vice president of powertrain and energy engineering and #18 Years employee of Tesla, Drew Baglino, has revealed his resignation from CEV company. Baglino decided to make his move identical to the company’s recent development of laying off over 10% of its workers as he released his resignation on X.
In 2006, Baglino was among the pioneers Tesla hired for its early days as a firmware and electrical engineer and from that role, he was key in the developments in vehicle and battery manufacturing and in the brand positioning globally in the electric vehicles industry.
Rohan Patel, the executive vice president in charge of public policy and business affairs at Tesla, is another person who has left the company. Patel entered Tesla in 2016 and became an advisor to the last president, as climate and energy matters were his specialities.
As Reuters has reported, the company led by Elon Musk as CEO is now shifting strategy instead. Since its focus is now on the progress of the robotaxi stage, the plans for the electric car are left unattended. A new business approach has been adopted based on the rising push from Chinese automakers such as BYD, which produce and present cheap electric cars.
In this respect, following the company’s vision is what both Baglino and Patel contributed to Tesla’s rockets, led the development of battery technology and manufactured vehicles as well, and ensured there was sustainable energy for everyday activities.
