Babar Azam’s World T20 XI: no Kohli, Bumrah included

Pakistan star batter Babar Azam selected his World XI in the T20 format and it was surprising that he left out the likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Pakistan star batter Babar Azam selected his World XI in the T20 format and it was surprising that he left out the likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, two of the greatest-ever Indian players in the format.

Though Bumrah is just an all-format great bowler, Kohli has similar good batting abilities. It was, however, interesting to notice that both of them failed to get a spot on Babar’s side. Since he had to select a maximum of two players from a single nation, Pakistan’s star opted for Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav along with selecting players from India in his XI.

Rohit Sharma (India), Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan), Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan), Suryakumar Yadav (India), Jos Buttler (England), David Miller (South Africa), Marco Jansen (South Africa), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Pat Cummins (Australia), Mitchell Starc (Australia), Mark Wood (England).

Babar Azam was recently trolled online by England batter Sam Billings using two opposing records of the players in PSL. Whereas Billings made the quickest fifty in PSL 2025 after reaching there in 19 balls, Babar made the slowest half-century in the season after achieving there in 47 balls.

Billings, who plays for Lahore Qalandars, achieved Quetta Gladiators. Conversely, Babar made the undesired record for Peshawar Zalmi against Islamabad United. The two players’ contrasting records were shared by a cricket Instagram page that Billings re-shared. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday announced that Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 will resume on May 17, with the final set for May 25.
