Shakib Al Hasan hurt his finger during a game against India pacer Jasprit Bumrah in Chennai.
Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe gave a significant update about Shakib Al Hasan for the second Test against India.
Shakib suffered a finger injury in the Chennai Test. He was underbowled. Hathurusinghe downplayed the veteran all-rounder’s injury and said the physio hadn’t given him any update, so Shakib is eligible for Kanpur selection.
Shakib suffered the injury during the series opener in Chennai when a fiery delivery from Jasprit Bumrah hit him.
The veteran all-rounder was sidelined for an extended period in both innings, bowling only 21 overs in the two innings.
Hannan Sarkar, the BCB select panel member, claims that the team management will take the final carmaker Shakib’s availability after the training sessions in Kanpur.
But Bangladesh head coach Khaled Mashud has already stated that Shakib is all set for selection.
“At the moment, I haven’t heard from my physio or anybody. He is still eligible for selection,” Hathurusinghe said after the team’s first training session in Kanpur.
