All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan of the Bangladeshi cricket team has been accused of murdering someone.
The ‘Heritage of Nash’ is in celebrating team Bangladesh’s sensational 10-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first Test of the two-match series held in Rawalpindi.
The victory was also Bangladesh’s maiden Test triumph against Pakistan. During the series, BCB got a legal notice to ask back and ban its star all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, as he is accused of murder. The case was said to have been filed by Rafiqul Islam, whose son Rubel was killed on August 7 during a protest in Bangladesh.
Faruque Ahmed, the president of BCB, had clearly mentioned that the board will be coming up with a decision on Shakib after the end of the first test. The latest one that has surfaced is that Cricbuzz has stated that the BCB has cleared Shakib for advancing in the series.
“He [Shakib] will continue playing. We sent a legal notice about bringing him back, and in our reply, they were told that this [that he will continue to play],” said BCB president Faruque Ahmed to a leading Bengali daily, Prothom Alo, on Tuesday.
‘Currently the FIR is filed and it is in the preliminary stage, and there are many processes after this, and unless he is proved guilty, we will ensure that he continues to play.
They have a tour to India after the Pakistan series, and we wish him to be part of that series as well. He is our contracted player, and if required, we will call our lawyers.”.
