A two-match Test series will be held between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The first test match has been planned to be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium starting August 21; on the other hand, the second test will be played at National Stadium Karachi from August 30.
Before the important away series against the Shan Masood-headed side, Bangladesh faced a setback on Saturday as Mahmudul Hasan, one of their key openers, announced his unavailability for the series.
The 23-year-old right-handed batting all-rounder has been sidelined due to a groin muscle strain. The BCB is yet to reveal who has been named for replacing Mahmudul.
We have received a mail on Mahmudul where it is mentioned that he has right groin strain, and for this reason he is not being allowed to play for the next three weeks,” BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury said speaking to Cricbuzz on Saturday.
Hasan, the batsman, who has scored 623 runs in the 13 Tests till now, injured himself while fielding for Bangladesh A side during the just-concluded match against Pakistan A side in Islamabad. He also could not bat in the second inning because of the injury.
His injury is not at all good news for the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side, especially because Hasan was in good form these days. He made 65 against Pakistan A and 69 and 65 in the four-day game playing for the High Performance Unit against Pakistan A in Darwin last month.
