India Today has learned that board secretary Jay Shah has discussed the issue with the International Cricket Council. Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the inclusion of Skardu, Murree, and Muzaffarabad, areas within PoK, in the tour itinerary.

The eight-team tournament will be held in Pakistan from February to March 2025, and to prepare for the cricketing extravaganza, the PCB organized a trophy tour. However, the BCCI has objected to the trophy tour in POK, a disputed land between India and Pakistan since the partition of the two countries in 1947.

When India Today approached ICC for an update on the trophy tour, a source said that the tour itinerary had yet to be confirmed and would be announced by the ICC’s official channels.

There is nothing to approve or reject. We are still in discussions on the final plan of the Trophy Tour. The confirmed Trophy Tour schedule will, as always, be announced via the ICC channels,” the source maintained.
