The Board of Control for Cricket in India made crucial reforms in the country’s domestic cricket format. The BCCI has introduced numerous new rules to ensure the game’s integrity, fairness, and consistency.
According to reports from Cricbuzz, the development was accessed after going through some official documents from the BCCI, which spelled out four major changes that the Board is said to implement this season.
This is followed by the news that the latest Ranji Trophy season began on Friday, 11th October.
Here’s the change for the upcoming domestic season:
The most amended rules are those relating to mid-innings retirements. According to new rules, all batters who retire except due to illness or injury or through some unavoidable circumstances shall be declared dismissed in that very match.
This rule is applicable to all the BCCI domestic matches, both red ball and white ball, so batters cannot return to bat even with the permission of the opposing captain.
