BCCI unveils revamped home season schedule for Indian Cricket team

In a recent development, the BCCI has released a fresh date list for the forthcoming home series of the Indian men’s cricket team.

Some of the alterations involve the King-League switch of the venue for the tour opener T20I between India and Bangladesh. Earlier planned for Dharamsala on October 6, the match will take place at the newly built Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium of Gwalior. This change was due to reconstructive work on the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium.

Also, the BCCI has shifted some of the venues for the India-England T20I series, which is scheduled as follows. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai got switched out of hosting the first T20I and will host the second T20I on 25th January 2025.

On the other hand, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata will now be hosting the opening T20I on 22nd January 2025, which was changed because of a request made by the Kolkata Police, as they have their Republic Day parade duties.

India’s home season gets underway in September with a two-Test series against Bangladesh, the first of which will be played in Chennai from September 19. The team will then play New Zealand in a three-test series before undertaking a five-test tour of Australia in November.

India will host England in five T20Is and three ODIs in January of the same year. The Indian team will also participate in the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan.
