Delhi Capitals hope for turnaround against dominant Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi Capitals will hope to arrest their slump against table toppers Chennai Super Kings on Sunday in Mumbai. CSK have defeated DC comprehensively in their last four meetings, including by massive margins. With an out-of-depth batting order struggling so far, DC are mulling the inclusion of aggressive opener Prithvi Shaw. This could push Mitchell Marsh down and lend some stability.
However, CSK’s varied attack, including the clever Mustafizur Rahman, will pose a tough test. Skipper Rishabh Pant and David Warner have shouldered major responsibility but need support from the middle order.
DC’s lack of quality finishers has also hurt. While Axar Patel has prospered with the ball, others have leaked runs. Anrich Nortje’s lengths were awry in the last game.
Ishant Sharma’s potential comeback could help tackle the impressive Rachin Ravindra. Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube’s battle will also be keenly watched.
Delhi has everything to do to upstage a well-oiled CSK unit firing on all cylinders. A win could kickstart their campaign after a patchy start, but overturning history against a rampant rival will not be straightforward.
