Former Pakistani cricketer’s remarks on working women spark outrage

The outrageous video of Abdul Samad, a former Pakistani cricketer, has gotten the most attention on web-based media nowadays. The many perspectives on working women and social problems have become another controversial issue. A video with no date on it was shared on social media by the journalist Ghulam Abbas from the BOL network, saying,

“It is the year 2024 and fast bowler Saeed Anwar finds women joining in the workforce as a tactic to uproot the society.”

In the video, the mission is to explain further Anwar’s world travels in which no matter where he goes, societies worldwide contend with problems including drug abuse and depression. He points to this issue as a consequence of women having to work for financial reasons, which he explains as being an indicator of an upcoming social decay.

Ayar evades that he had a chat with New Zealand cricket team captain Kane Williamson, whereby Williamson looks for his advice for promoting good living. Another instance of this point was brought up by a former cricketer who accused an unnamed “mayor of Australia” that women’s culture was harmful after they started working.

The men’s age condition is another area that requires further study and advocacy. Pakistani women’s financial freedom has been another important factor, leading to a 30 percent increase in divorce rate within the last three years.

He indicates that this class of women is more likely to be able to leave their spouses due to their financial independence, which in return provides them freedom. In Anwar’s view, the game plan here is the deliberate establishment of women in the workforce, which has been well thought out, and it is supposed to create the intended impact on society.

Anwar’s statement has triggered a hot argument and condemnation from many quarters, and some people see it as Reactionary and anti-women emancipation. But, someone has also argued that a rather controversial one of his views should be acceptable enough to be expressed.

The video reactivated debates regarding women’s responsibilities in Pakistan and worldwide, their financial independence, and the traditional approach towards women in Pakistani society. With the exchanges still progressing, Anwar’s narration has bolstered the observable tensions among individuals who hold conservative and modern positions regarding people’s obligations in society.
