GT vs RR, IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans continue their excellent winning spree with a convincing performance at home against Rajasthan Royals to triumph by 58 runs. A classy fifty from Sai Sudharsan and a combined bowling effort led Gujarat Titans to an authoritative 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL encounter here on Wednesday.
Sudharsan illuminated the evening with a scintillating 53-ball 82, while Jos Buttler’s (36), Shahrukh Khan’s (36), and Rahul Tewatia’s (24) explosive cameos powered GT to a strong 217/6. The bowlers then continued to chip away, punching at regular intervals to keep Rajasthan on the back foot despite mounting fighting knocks by Shimron Hetmyer (52) and skipper Sanju Samson (41).
Sudharsan was in masterful touch, finding gaps at ease and punishing everything loose. His elegant knock, dotted with eight fours and three sixes, laid the foundation for GT’s dominant total. Chasing 217, bowlers Mohammed Siraj (1/30) and Arshad Khan (1/19) struck early to provide GT with a fine beginning.
Arshad opened the GT innings, sending the perilous Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) packing, who whipped at a wide one and found Rashid Khan at deep third. In the following over, Nitish Rana (1) tried an upper-cut off Siraj but was similarly done in, hitting it directly to the fielder at deep third man.
Samson and Riyan Parag (26) started a blistering counterattack, though. Parag slammed three no-look sixes, while Samson hit anything loose to the fence with effortless ease, taking RR to 57/2 during the powerplay. The momentum shifted once more as Impact Sub Kulwant Khejroliya (1/29) got Parag trapped by Buttler before Rashid Khan dismissed Dhruv Jurel (5) to have Rajasthan reeling at 68/4.
Samson and Hetmyer contributed 48 runs to keep aspirations alive, but the finishing blow was delivered by Prasidh Krishna (3/24). He dismissed Samson first as the wicketkeeper attempted to guide one behind square but only managed to misguide it high towards Sai Kishore, who held onto it calmly at the circle’s edge.
