Hardik Pandya’s stepbrother, Vaibhav Pandya, has found himself in legal trouble. The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has taken him into custody on fraud charges amounting to ₹4.3 crore. Vaibhav’s brothers, Hardik and Krunal Pandya, filed a complaint against him, accusing him of engaging in deceitful practices.
The allegations revolve around a partnership firm established by the three siblings in 2021, where they ventured into the polymer business. Each brother had a defined stake in the enterprise, with Hardik and Krunal contributing 40% each to the capital, while Vaibhav held a 20% share. The agreement stated that the partners would distribute profits based on their investments.
However, it has come to light that Vaibhav allegedly diverted profits from the partnership firm into his personal accounts, depriving Hardik and Krunal of their rightful returns. Moreover, he secretly increased his profit share to 33.3%, causing significant losses for his brothers.
The situation worsened when Vaibhav purportedly transferred funds from the partnership account to another company without Hardik and Krunal’s knowledge or consent, further exacerbating their financial woes. The brothers suffered a staggering loss of nearly ₹4.3 crore.
When Hardik and Krunal confronted Vaibhav about these discrepancies, he threatened defamation if legal action was pursued against him.
Taking swift action, the Pandya brothers’ accountant lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Khar police station, triggering an investigation by the authorities. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the Economic Offences Wing for further scrutiny.
After a thorough investigation, Vaibhav Pandya was arrested and remanded to police custody for five days.
In other news, Hardik Pandya has been making headlines since being appointed captain of the Mumbai Indians IPL side, replacing Rohit Sharma. However, this decision has faced criticism from some fans, leading to Hardik being booed during matches, including those held at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. The team’s poor performance, losing their first three matches, intensified scrutiny on Hardik Pandya.
