ICC team to assess Pakistan’s champions trophy preparations

An ICC team will visit Pakistan in the coming weeks to reach an official capacity to determine the preparations in the country that will host the 2025 champions trophy. According to a news brief by Sports Tak, the delegation is supposed to arrive in the next ten days to check out some of the facilities and other factors that go into the tournament’s organization.

After this visit, the ICC is expected to release the tournament schedule and ticket to the public. Earlier this year, PCB stated that it had a new budget of Rs 12. 80 billion for upgrades to three key venues: Lahore, Gaddafi Stadium, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, which will be the venues of the great event.

However, there are doubts regarding the Indian team’s participation in the tour. While observing their involvement, the BCCI is expected to adhere to some orders from the Central government. In an interview, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said there are rumors that BCCI is thinking twice about participating in the Champions Trophy.

Naqvi said, “We have been talking to the boards of those teams who are part of this tournament,” stressing cooperation even though there is rivalry at the moment. Other issues concerning leadership transition will also be discussed in the next ACC meeting, which will be held on September 8th and 9th. BCCI secretary Jay Shah is also the new ICC chairman.
