The high point of the fielding, however, was when Vishmi Gunaratne misplayed a lofted shot off Renuka: Radha, substituting in the field, dashed diagonally to her right and then pulled off a spectacular diving catch to her left.

This defeat marked Sri Lanka’s elimination from the tournament after three back-to-back defeats. India improved their position in Group A with a net run rate of 0.560. The Women in Blue next face six-time champions Australia on Sunday in their final group stage match.
