India facing doubts ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

India seems all set for the T20 World Cup 2024. However, this team is catching some unexpected suspicion from an unexpected man—David Lloyd, the former England cricketer.

SYDNEY: Australian cricketer Lloyd recently questioned the caliber of the side led by Rohit Sharma, saying that ‘The current tag of not being really threatening for the India cricket team in the upcoming T20 tournament to be held from June 1 is very appropriate’.

(They are) quite a predictable team. The shackles are not off,” Lloyd said in an interview with talkSPORT. I believe the opposition accepts the quality.” In this context, it is interesting to see the opposition accepting quality. Yeah, good players these.

But they will still not take a chance with bat or ball. So, you would classify them based on thinking of them as ‘yeah, they will have their moments, but they wouldn’t be threatening, ‘” he added.

India will be keen on debunking Lloyd’s prophesy and clinching their first ICC trophy after being dormant since winning the ICC event in 2013. The Indian team that will try to clinch the coveted title in the 2007 T20 World Cup will be led by Rohit Sharma, with a talented team behind him.

The 15-man squad to India comprises some of its most recognizable players in its current playing generation, such as Virat Kohli, Hardik Patel, Rishbabu Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Newcomers include Yashasvi Jaiswar and Shubhang Gill. The team will play a friendly match against Bangla Desh in the US on June 1 before the onset of the League’s competition.

Even though Lloyd wasn’t specifically pointing fingers at the Indian team, her words have sparked quite a debate and controversy. The Indian team will be up for the challenge and make sure that they win their second T20 World Cup trophy. India, which has not won any ICC trophy in recent years, will be looking to change the course in a style befitting the status of the champions.
