India vs England 1st Test, Day 1 Highlights: India skipper Shubman Gill hammered a century as the visitors were 359/3 at the end of the first day of the 1st Test against England in Leeds. Gill and his deputy Rishabh Pant were 127 not out and 65 not out, respectively.

Ben Stokes sent centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal packing soon after play resumed for the third session. India was 92/2 at Lunch in Leeds, with Gill accompanied by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is on the verge of a half-century.

Jaiswal and KL Rahul put together an opening partnership of 91 runs during the first session at Headingley. England though finished the session in style by taking two wickets for five deliveries. India’s debutant B Sai Sudharsan was dismissed for a four-ball duck. (SCORECARD)

So, a great day for India! A century each by Jaiswal and Gill. Indian captain still on the crease on 127, together with Pant, remaining unbeaten on 65.

Only three wickets for England, two by Stokes after Carse initiated the show with the wicket of KL Rahul before Lunch. Two sessions to India and one was shared. India will pick up from 359/3 on Day 2.
