Indian Women’s A team captain Minnu Mani spoke about her views about the team and scope of upgrading after the T20 series against Australia A. Although the team gave their best in all three match series, Mani is hopeful that more can still be done in the one-day series.
New Delhi [India]: The captain of the Indian Women’s A team, Minnu Mani, asked for improvement after the end of the T20 series against the Australian A team.
Although he was visibly dissatisfied with the team’s performance in the concluded three-match series, he is of the view that there is still a lot more that the team can produce in the best possible manner in the format of the one-day series.
Being a wall, Mani also appreciated the importance of a good performance against a stronger team like Austalia as a practice session. ‘I hope I get another chance to play against Australia; we were able to sit down and think about what needs to be done, and I am positive that we will do better in the one-dayers.’.

To questions about the morale of the team, particularly after the recent series loss, Mani was quick to defend the team, saying morale remained high.
She said that victory or defeat does not impact the team’s cooperation levels and that the team remains spirited with the 50-over series starting on Wednesday.
Analyzing her performance in overseas conditions, Mani said that it is necessary to assume the captain and admitted that it is difficult to play in Australia.
”As a captain, I feel I should contribute for the team whatever the situation, and I should show the responsibility, and I think it was a great learning experience for us to play here in different conditions, and we will be getting better with more matches,” the Indian skipper said.
