Indian cricket stars meet Dubai crown prince

ICC Chairman Jay Shah met Crown Prince Hamdan in India, enhancing cricket relations and showing ICC’s support for international cricket development on social media.

The ICC chairman, Jay Shah, called on His Highness, Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum of Dubai, on his visit to India. On the occasion, the ICC chair also presented some of the biggest Indian cricket stars to the Crown Prince, strengthening the bond between Indian cricket and the UAE.

Shah also posted on social media a post about the visit during which he quoted the ICC’s dedication to making cricket grow on an international platform in order to promote the sport among various groups of people. In the pictures posted, the Crown Prince is seen with Jay Shah and Team India stars such as Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav as well.

Such moments remind us of our common love and the unifying power of cricket across the globe.” ICC -Chair Jay Shah, said in a social media post.

The UAE has frequently hosted multiple cricket games and even organized numerous tournaments as well, going back to the 1980s. In today’s times, the UAE has also been host to ICC and franchise tournaments. They most recently hosted the ICC Champions Trophy, where Dubai was a host for India, who had not chosen to travel to Pakistan for the tournament, allowing them to host it in a hybrid format.

Besides, the UAE has also hosted the Indian Premier League in the pandemic for the 2020 and 2021 seasons too. Both the seasons witnessed two of the most popular franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, lift the respective seasons.
