India’s 2024 T20 World Cup Triumph earns massive Payday

It must be noted that the Indian team that clinched the title at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was rewarded Rs 125 crore as BCCI prize money.

The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, emerged as the triumphant team last month at Kensington Oval in Barbados. They beat South Africa to clinch the trophy and end India’s 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.

But now, a report in the Indian Express has provided the amounts given to each individual. Each of the 15 players in the T20 World Cup team and head coach Rahul Dravid will get Rs 5 crore and Rs 2. 50 crore, respectively. The other members of the coaching staff and selection committee will also be easily compensated.

Peculiarly, Rs 1 crore is planned to be paid to all four reserve players who accompanied the team, and all the other staff, including physiotherapists and logistics managers, are to be rewarded Rs 2 crore each.

The vast sum suggested to the players severely emphasizes the point that the BCCI is all set to appreciate the team’s great performance and the efforts of the players and the support staff. Thus, this has the potential to be seen as evidence of India’s dominance in the international cricket scenario.
