Following IPL 2025, Jasprit Bumrah will be playing in the five-Test series against England. Jasprit Bumrah is in action in the IPL 2025 for Mumbai Indians currently. Post the T20 franchise league, the marquee fast bowler will be in action for the five-Test series against England.
Although officially announced that Jasprit Bumrah would not be included in all the Tests, returns of Bumrah will be vital. “Playing in England is always a different challenge,” Bumrah said to former Australia captain Michael Clarke on the Beyond23 cricket YouTube channel.
“I always enjoy bowling with the Dukes ball,” he stated. “But I don’t know how much the Dukes ball is performing currently because there’s always constant changes to the ball. But the weather, the conditions for swinging. And then when the ball softens, there’s always a challenge. So I always enjoy playing in England.”
Bumrah is regarded as a great in today’s time by ex-cricketers. At 205 wickets from 45 Tests, Bumrah has had his 45 Tests. Though statistically not the greatest in the past, his immense influence in the past couple of years has earned him the bowling leader title. The 31-year-old has played 45 Tests, 89 ODIs and 70 T20Is for the nation so far along with playing 143 IPL games for Mumbai Indians.
“This is a sport which I fell in love with. I travelled to Australia this time, and lots of young guys approached me and attempted to mimic my [bowling] action. Which is bizarre because I used to do that. So, this journey will not always continue, but whenever it ceases, I would like to give something back to the sport.
Because everything that I have and everything that I have learned in life is through this sport. Grateful to the journey that I have had,” Bumrah said to former Australia captain Michael Clarke on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.
“It is difficult for anyone to keep playing everything for so many years. I have been doing it for a long time. But after some time, you must realize where your body is heading and which are the key tournaments, so you have to be a bit picky and clever about how you use your body. Certainly, as a cricketer, I would never like to leave anything and always continue,” said Bumrah.
“At this point, I am fine. But I do not set targets like this is the weight I should be. I take it day by day. The journey is good so far, but the day I feel that the drive is lost or the effort is not there or my body is not cooperating, that is the day when you make the decision.”
